The Company:
Our client is a leading Oil & Gas Operator.

The Role:
We are looking for an experimented Instrument Engineer for an Operator and a greenfield Russian major LNG project.
The position will be based on the EPC offices in Japan.

The Service Provider shall review and comment the instrumentation studies and deliverables of the project.
To supervise detailed design of relevant discipline and provide assistance/support to commissioning/start-up preparation team.
To ensure that detailed design of the instrumentation systems complies with S.O.R., contract, schedule, budget and safety practices.
To avoid EPC contractor stand-by/delays by prompt response to engineering queries and unexpected technical issues.
To support the Procurement and Interface activities.

His/her mission will be:
1. To monitor and highlight the interfaces with all packages in relation to ICSS & instrumentation disciplines.
2. To participate in technical reviews during the detailed design: to provide support and expertise and contribute on instrumentation and control issues.
3. To provide engineering support for inter-contractor interface activities.
4. To ensure proper reporting, highlighting critical issues to the Engineering Manager/Procurement Manager and proposing remedial actions.
5. To contribute to improving the project lessons learnt and personnel skills.
6. To contribute to the advancement of working methods and tools within his speciality.
7. To advise the Engineering Manager on solutions to System / Instrumentation issues.
8. Ensure that the design of installations meets the requirements of the project specifications, Safety Concept, S.O.R and other related documents.
9. Guarantee the quality of instrumentation and ICSS related studies. Monitor and coordinate the EPC Contractor and guide the design of the installation by close participation in the design activities, review and comment on the corresponding EPC and OBT deliverables.
10. Prepare and participate in technical meetings, challenge the EPC Contractor, monitor and promote cost saving solutions in the design. Promote alternatives for instrumentation design to optimize works.
11. Report to Engineering Manager/Procurement Manager on progress of his activity and on changes to basis for design, anticipate problems in his disciplines and inform Engineering Manager/Procurement Manager.
12. Ensures that instrumentation and ICSS part of all engineering activities are performed in order to execute project as per Company know-how, with required level of quality, safely and with respect of environment, within the agreed time schedule and cost.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Diploma: Chartered Engineer with specialisation automation, process control, ESD and F&G.
Professional experience: 15 years. Specialist with extensive experience of field instrumentation. Detailed experience of the operating and control philosophy of LNG projects.
Good teamwork, strong minded.
Fluent in English. Russian a plus.
