The Company:
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager and supporting the Construction Manager, this position is responsible for the safe and efficient coordination of all site instrumentation construction installation activities and to complete the project on schedule and on budget.
This position is site based in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The work shift will be 9 days of work followed by 5 days off, 10 to 12 hours per day. Depending on site activities, shift may be from 7am to 7pm, or from 7pm to 7am, or

The Role:
Coordinating and managing the day to day instrumentation construction activities on site, specifically:

Actively participate in the HSSE Site Safety Program and that of Prime Contractors:
o Work with HSSE representatives to ensure all standards are met;
o Promotes job safety, encourages safe work practice and rectifies job hazards;
o Attend Work Site safety meetings and tool box talks; and
o Monitor Contractor and construction compliance to procedures, rules and regulations of
•- Company and Contractor Work Site
•- Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)
•- Other governmental (local & federal) requirements.

Liaising / interface coordinating with Contractors and management as the Companies site representative:
o Interface coordination between other Internal business unit area coordinators;
o Interface with other Internal functional groups (CM, Drilling, Ops, SWS, HSSE, SCM, etc.);
o Interface coordination between multiple contractors in the work area on daily basis;
o Work with the General Superintendent and contractors to avoid or mitigate all significant; risks and assist with contingency plan for other risks which cannot be effectively mitigated;
o Work with electrical site engineers, consultants, & inspectors;
o Assist in coordinating site visits for third parties, vendors and specialty contractors; and
o Will maintain daily progress report to Construction Manager
•- Comment and provide update information from a Client standpoint
•- Including pictures, activity updates, and safety status
•- Check and report impact of daily progress reports from contractors
•- Comments on any potential cost or contractual issues.

Individual Contractor coordination activities:
o Review execution plans, scope of work, schedule, man-power loading;
o Review construction methodologies and constructability reviews where required;
o Review construction planning;
o Participate in progress, construction review, turnover, and C&S/U meetings;
o Monitor adherence of construction execution activities (schedule & progress);
o Monitor adherence to latest version of design criteria (specs, procedures, practices);
o Review material procurement supply timelines to ensure availability of material;
o Identify deficiencies and coordinate rework where corrective action is required;
o Implement work improvement strategies;
o Ensure construction management best practices used;
o Review Contractor QC programs and Inspection Test Plans;
o Reviewing all QA and QC packages and documentation;
o Confirm Q/A & Q/C checks are completed and signed off as construction is completed; and
o Audit completion of Contractors’ punch-list item.

Other Considerations:
• There is no overtime multiplier for this position.
• Travel time is not provided in this position.
• Truck and all position related equipment are included in the rate. Unless otherwise noted, rate includes all costs related to this position. For clarity, rate is all inclusive.
• Subsistence and LOA are not provided for this position.
• Camp room and meals will be provided for days worked in this position.
• Travel costs are reimbursable from Calgary or Edmonton to Fort McMurray and from Fort McMurray to Edmonton or Calgary at COST. Company travel policy must be adhered to as applicable.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Professional Engineer degree required
• Technical Degree, Diploma, or Journeyman Certificate an asset
• 15+ years industrial construction experience
• Knowledge of applicable code requirements and regulations
• Working in a Construction Management position on projects exceeding $500 million
• Working knowledge of P-6 Primavera
• Technologist level knowledge of using engineered drawings and specifications
• Technologist level back ground experience in industrial construction
• Experience in design and construction of in-situ Oilsands projects
• Experience in oil & gas construction management, supervision, and trade work
• Demonstrated leadership and comparable construction management experience
• Strong organizational, problem solving, written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well with diverse personalities and work force
