The Company:
Our client a major international oil and gas operator seeks a Planning engineer to join their team in Pittsburgh, PA

The Role:
To provide comprehensive leadership, training, coaching & mentoring in the introduction and delivery of Integrated Activity Planning & Scheduling (IAPS) process within a target Asset including establishment of an Asset IAPS team, support to Plan & Activity Owners, establishment of IAPS planning cycles & meetings, planning & scheduling, progress monitoring and reporting, resource planning and risk management.

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop hierarchical and auditable Integrated plans for the 8year, 2year and 90day plans and 6 week & 1 week Integrated schedules
• Prepare and maintain IAPS procedures
• Monitor resource requirements
• Verify progress and performance against plan, identify areas of potential schedule overrun requiring corrective action, forecast completions and provide accurate and timely reports
• Work with the IAPS team in the use of planning software to evaluate options in scope or execution
• Ensure that all interface issues are identified, understood, documented in the schedule, monitored and reviewed
• Ensure short term critical activity is understood and reviewed
• Prepare and maintain the work breakdown structure in coordination with work and organisation structures and accounting processes in liaison with the appropriate functions
• Ensure that all plans are realistic and fully challenged prior to management submission
• Ensure outturn planning data and lessons learned are fed back to internal stakeholders, including BGA, for the benefit of future implementation roll-outs
• Ensure all planning aspects of the project are consistent with project Health, Safety, Security and Environmental requirements

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Technical professional with broad exposure to E&P business, based upon good working knowledge from project management and sound understanding of the financial and commercial impact of E&P business decisions attractiveness and performance
• Experience of working within Multi-national Oil / Gas companies
• Gained wide exposure to cultural and geographical environments
• Verifiable record in the successful provision of project services on at least one complex hydrocarbon gas project in ‘medium’ to ‘high-focus’ environments
• Had exposure to range of technical and commercial lifecycle activities
• Hands-on experience of using project control systems and procedures supported by current software applications – Primavera P6, MS Project etc.
• Experienced in reviewing and challenging estimates & schedules
• Competent to lead a multi-disciplinary project services team and mentor and inspire other team members
• Experience of some form of change programme e.g. installing new syst

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Perspective; sense of knowing what is important / critical at various levels of work and understand staff mentalities
• Judgement; know when to intervene / come over strongly & when not
• Influencing skills; whilst not ‘owning the plan’ needs to encourage those that do to take ownership
• Analytical; able to take-in & consider large amount of data & be able to see wood for trees. Be incisive, clear thinking
• People Skills; able to form rapport with all types / levels, across all functions / disciplines, such that right level of conversations happen & surface what is important. Able to bring people together to common ay of thinking / working
• Good team player with a pro-active and flexible attitude, and able to work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Technical skills; activity planning training & recent “hands on experience” of current proprietary software
• Fluent in English
