The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
To develop and drive a comprehensive interface management process and also to develop a risk identification, mitigation and action plan focussed around project internal and external interfaces.
Overall objective of the position is to develop and manage an effective Interface Management process which will drive action at every level in the organisation to ensure that the LNG Upstream Project robustly manages interface risks

• Develop a robust process to identify and define all interfaces at the project, System and sub system level.
• Ensure that interface control specifications or alternative documentation is produced for all identified and appropriate systems interfaces.
• Liaise with all design disciplines to achieve a common approach to interface management and liaise with relevant design / construction / testing and commissioning manager to resolve any emerging issues.
• Ensure that identification and definition of information and system interfaces is carried out within the project teams through design, construction, testing and commissioning.
• Proactively identify actions required and risks associated with information and system interfaces and develop robust solutions and action plans:
Within the Upstream Project;
o Engineering interfaces between Upstream project delivery areas and with midstream project
o Contract interfaces within scope areas
o Contract interfaces between delivery areas and with midstream project
o Contract Interfaces around Tie-ins
o Operations interfaces and handover definition

• Develop, manage and control the Project Interface Management process and ensure that interface procedures and documentation is produced by each project team
• Develop and implement process for production of specifications for each interface points between nominated delivery stakeholders either side of the interface point
• Hold regular meetings with delivery stakeholders
• Resolve conflicts over accountabilities around interface points
• Develop Project interface schedules to report the status of interfaces between multiple Projects throughout the design, construction, commissioning and early operations phases
• Attend and present interface issues at Company monthly and / or other reviews / meetings
• Participate and provide direction to contract strategy development
• Capture Best Practices / Lessons Learned and ensure implementation elsewhere on the project and in the broader group

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Substantial experience within design and construction
• Multidiscipline experience
• Educated to first degree, or equivalent, in Business Systems Engineer or a relevant discipline
• Chartered member of a relevant institution – ideally INOSE
• Ability to interpret and use data from cost estimates, project schedules and risk analyses to assist in decision making
• Excellent communications skills, both written and oral, with the ability to challenge others in a constructive manner and negotiate with internal peers and partner representatives to influence decisions or ways of working
• Good team player with a pro-active and flexible attitude, and able to work in a multi-cultural environment
• Leadership capabilities appropriate to a senior role operating with a large degree of autonomy
• Leadership attributes suitable for running a team

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience at managing by influence and networking
• Experience of contract management for major projects of significant magnitude and contractual complexity
• Experience of contract preparation and development
• Sound understanding of the financial and commercial impact of project and engineering decisions on project performance
• Wide exposure of major project interfaces and solid understanding of the full range of interface issues
• Experience of working with joint venture partners
• Able to lead the implementation of HSE improvements
• Exposure to range of technical and commercial lifecycle activities
