The Company:
Our client, a major international owner-operator is currently looking for an Intermediate Buyer with significant contracts and procurement experience on major Oil and Gas projects in Canada.

This position is only open to those are eligible to work in Canada as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada.

The Role:
Primary responsibility will be to work with Company’s external design firm procurement department to ensure compliance with supply chain processes, procedures, and business controls. Additionally, the Contract Buyer will be required to perform in-house procurement activities, including:

• Support Company Contracting & Procurement (C&P) staff in commercial sourcing activities for Onshore Gas and Insitu projects. Primary support will be for projects located in Canada; however, work may extend to support US projects as well. Buyer will report directly to the Senior Procurement Manager, Onshore Gas Projects. This role also entails working with Company and external design firm engineers and construction contractors to obtain the best overall value for Company through effective and efficient application of procurement and contract management processes

• Manage sourcing process including preparation and issuance of tender packages, vendor communications throughout duration of the bid, negotiation of commercial Terms & Conditions, tracking of tender progress, and preparation of bid summary/evaluation documents

• Process and issue purchase orders/contracts in SAP ERP system, as well as manage the commercial delivery and track status and performance of those orders/contracts

• Manage commercial correspondence related to contract/purchase order change orders; write and issue change orders and track issued change orders

• Assist with reporting/tracking of expenditures and savings

• Preparation of purchase order/contract and change order files for file room submission

• Formal close out of purchase orders and contracts

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree preferred

• 1- 3 years C&P or related experience preferred but nor required – experience with Oil & Gas projects strongly preferred

• Strong computer skills, including experience using ERP software packages – experience with SAP preferred

• Ability to balance multiple competing priorities and demonstrated work capacity

• Skills in managing competitive acquisition process and supplier relationship management

• Strong written and verbal communications skills and proven ability to work in a fast paced team environment
