Job Purpose:

Internal Communications Partner – HR and Compliance will be responsible for working with the HR and Compliance teams to build their communications strategy. It is an important part of the role to build a consistent view with regard to the communications working with the communications manager/ communications advisor at group level.

As journalist - to write the messaging, develop the content and shape the external and internal perception of HR and compliance.
As a member of the HR and Compliance team, they will be a key input to the functional strategy providing communications insight and help to deliver functional success for the business.

As a member of the internal communications team contributing to Group Channels, working with the communications manager and the communications advisor to deliver content for the key communications channels across the group.

Responsibilities / Key Objectives:

• Build the strategy: Working with the HR and Compliance Management team to build the communications strategy that supports the HR activities across the group.
• Advise on the options available – Provide communications options, regarding, audience, messaging and channels. Deliver your opinion and allow • HR to make educated choices on the way forward
• Protect the Brand and the Group Communications Processes When working with HR and Compliance, you need to be the protector of the group communications style and process, you need to challenge HR and compliance to stay within the brand guidelines and then ensure that we achieve consistency across the group.
• Contribute to the functional plans
• As a part of the HR and Compliance teams, contribute as a partner to the functional plans and help to shape the future of the functions.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree educated, preferably in English, Journalism, Marketing, or Communications.
• The ideal candidate must have experience in managing a range of internal communication channels
• Ideally having supported/ partnered with HR before in communications programmes
• Excellent writing skills, regularly writing and sub-editing for a variety of formats/media
• Have eye for detail
• Comfortable and confident with carrying out a range of high and low profile tasks
• Developing simple campaigns to defined objectives
• Providing tactical advice to managers on communication practice
• Developing personal networks
• Dealing with highly confidential information
• Understands the role and benefits of face-to-face communication
