The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
Working from the UK sales office based in Workington the role of Internal Sales Engineer is key in providing first class technical and product support to the Global customer base, Co-ordinate requests for quotations for proprietary DP Flow products. The role involves understanding customer design criteria, specifications and standards, to produce costings based on your design and understanding commercial and legal aspects of providing these global solutions.

You will be responsible for providing technical support for the DP Flow product portfolio and must have an outgoing personality in order to build relationships with customers and other support personnel.
In addition to this you will be expected to manage projects with respect to changes and keep projects on track for delivery and cost as they progress through the factory.

This is a demanding and challenging role with superb job satisfaction for the correct candidate.

Key Responsibilities and duties

• Achieving target of profitable orders.
• Building and maintaining client relationship.
• Providing technical support.
• Producing final quotation to customer.
• Clarification of customer specification.
• Producing a technical specification for manufacturing.
• Contract reviews with Engineering and Production.
• Managing and prioritising own workload.

The primary responsibility of this role will be the generation of quotations for the companies Local Sales Offices of Engineered Solutions but will also be required to prepare quotations and provide technical support for other products as determined by the DP Flow Sales Manager.

As well as the quotation, the role of the Sales Engineer involves the production of a technical specification suitable for manufacturing to produce the items, liaise with Engineering to ensure that orders are handed to manufacturing in a timely and efficient manner.

In addition, all documentation required by the customer will be initiated and assessed by the sales engineer to ensure that engineering are able to deliver the documentation required via the customer approved submittal system.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Computer literate.
Good telephone manner and communication skills with “a can do” attitude.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
