The Role:
Based in Derby and reporting to the Site Manager, the Storekeeper/Inventory Controller is responsible for controlling the site inventory of purchased and manufactured items, for ensuring stock is safely stored and accurately controlled, in line with best practice. To ensure that customers' requirements are met, and team members capabilities are fully developed and utilised.

* To plan and organise the team's activity on a day to day basis, in order to ensure that work is provided to control purchase/sub-assembly and finished goods receipts, material issues and sales despatches against performance measures and targets
* To lead and motivate the team with capabilities in all aspects of manufacturing makeup, quality and despatch, through effective communication, job skills training/coaching and regular performance feedback, in order to maximise individual and team performance with the goal of Continues Improvement
* To carry out the first stages of all personnel procedures, including performance appraisal, absence control, discipline and grievance, with the goal of constant, fair and proactive personnel practice
* To ensure inventory is stored securely, safely and accurately, and all transactions are recorded in a timely manner to guarantee a high level of stock and transactional accuracy
* Ensure purchase orders, production orders, sales orders and replenishment orders are accurately entered in order to control inventory
* To undertake physical stock checks and cycle counts on a regular basis to monitor stock accuracy
* To monitor and control inventory, investigate discrepancies, correct inaccuracies and implement corrective action e.g. progress shortages and late deliveries and liaise with the local Scheduler to re-schedule
* To co-operate with the site Manager & Team Leaders so that customers' requirements are met
* To support process improvements and cost reduction in initiatives across the site

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Two years experience within a stores / inventory environment
• Qualifications or experience within a supervisory/management role
• Sound working knowledge of Health and Safety and environmental requirements
• Sound working knowledge of best practice for stock inventory control
• Good level of computer literacy - Word and Excel
