The Company:
Our client is a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions for the infrastructure (pipe systems, and power and communication cables), automotive and advanced packaging markets. They have its headquarters in the UAE and Singapore.
Our client is on the way to increase their capacity even further with a multi - billion dollar mega- project. By the end of 2013, they will have added a 3rd Ethane cracker to create the largest Ethane cracker complex in the world.

The Role:
About the job
To do inventory checking of material and spare parts by accurate stock counting on timely base and investigate discrepancies by analysing reception, storage, issue and recording of items.
Suggest optimization of inventory parameters to optimize the stock levels

Main Work Performed and Responsibilities:

• To ensure timely availability of items at most economical cost, as well as optimize the stock level s in coordination with users as per department’s policy and procedures.
• Review with the MRP lists as per department’s policy and procedure.
• Run MRP program to replenish stock materials below reorder point.
• Review and classify the inventory based on movement and use of material (e.g. fast moving, slow moving, dormant, obsolete, capital, insurance etc) and take action to control / liquidate as per the company’s guidelines and policy.
• Review and edit the material master database for fields related to inventory control, as and when required.
• Track the movement of capital & repairable items and take necessary action as per department’s procedure.
• Maximum the quantity of materials covered under long time price agreement (LTPA) for optimized material purchasing cycle.
• Optimize the stock levels of items in accordance with inventory stocking policy and in consultation with users, in order to optimize the overall inventory holding and achieve the set targets without affecting plant operations.
• Closely expedite with procurement for delivery of zero balance items required on priority basis to carry out pending work orders.
• Processing PR ensure turnaround or shutdown materials are available prior to start of shutdown or turnaround.
• Organise yearly and cycle inventory counting.
• Verify physical count results, report them and recommend variance adjustment.
• Plan, Participate & lead cyclic count activities and to report the findings & discrepancies to management.
Work Contacts:

Regular contact with personnel in the Plant Availability and Operations departments to issue and move spare parts. Also interacts with inspection personnel, contractors and vendors.

Supervisory Responsibility:

It’s a staff function with advisory, analysis & support responsibility with no direct subordinates.

Independence of Operation and Decision making Authority:

Work is closely supervised by Lead Inventory Controller.
Performance is reviewed by Lead Inventory Controller.

Work Environment:

Based in the plant location at Ruwais. Works in the stores area. Exposed to plant conditions and weather extremes for part of the time.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Technical Secondary Certificate or equivalent qualification. Working knowledge of the computerized system followed in the Company. 2-3 years work experience in the area of materials storage administration in an oil / gas or petrochemical industry.
Good communication & reporting skills in English. Basic administrative skills. Must be able to handle certificates. Orderly, and sense of cleanliness and safety. Multi skilled.
