The Company:
Our Client is a Leading Operator in the Oil and Gas Industry.

The Role:
The Pensions Investments Team’s principal function is managing the assets of the Pension Fund in the UK on behalf of the Fund Trustee. There are 29 in the team. It forms part of Corporate Finance & Pensions Investments within Treasury but is responsible to the Fund Trustee, which includes several of our client’s main board directors. Our Client is committed to supporting its pension funds and over recent times the profile of the team has risen significantly.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring daily equity trades are accurately instructed to the Custodian and ensuring all instructed trades settle in the relevant market
- Daily cash forecasting in multiple currencies and initiating the underlying FX and treasury dealing
- Ensuring corporate actions are implemented in accordance with the relevant Fund Manager’s request
- Instructing cash payments/receipts to Custodian
- Preparation of weekly stock reconciliations and stock lending reports
- Preparation of quarterly stock lending report
- Preparation of Fund top 20 equities report
- Preparation of weekly valuation of our client’s Pension Fund (cover)
- Private Equity (PE) transactions (3 person process)
- Weekly European PE valuation & North America cover
- European PE valuations & North America cover
- Monthly European PE transactions reconciliation and PE month cover
- Quarterly proxy voting reporting and maintenance of POAs
- Preparation of derivatives’ control spreadsheets (Futures and FX Forwards)
- Preparation of SORP valuations for three custody funds (quarterly)
- Assisting the Investments Accountant with preparation of the quarterly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts. This includes analysis of the Fund’s investment transactions in compliance with SORP, preparation and posting of journals to the Fund’s accounting system
- analysis of various ledger accounts such as dividend income, fixed interest income, administration fees, and investment management fees
- Other adhoc tasks

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- No formal professional qualification is required for this role, however a desire to study for a professional qualification such as IMA or CIMA is encouraged
- Strong IT skills essential since the team employs a number of sophisticated systems.
- High level of numeracy
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience in banking or financial services desirable (but not necessary)
