The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
The job holder is responsible for developing and implementing leading edge technical solutions and software as appropriate to the organisation. The job holder is expected to be the focal point for developing the solution and maintaining the appropriate documentation.

Reporting to the Key Account Manager for the SUP area, the job holder will be expected to work with IT, business and colleagues.
In line with the IT prioritisation process, the function requires flexibility of resource, and the job holder may on occasion be required to support activities within other process areas.

• Analysis of existing IT applications/ architectures and technologies taking into consideration the book of standards
• Assistance with process and application consulting
• Creation and maintenance of requirements document
• Liaise with the infrastructure team regarding hardware requirements
• Design and development of the agreed solution
• Ensure quality of solutions via appropriate testing methods
• Delivery of agreed solution
• Handover to operations, commissioning management and integration
• Provide 3rd level support to application relevant in the business process area
• Responsible for keeping technical knowledge up to date

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Whilst a degree level qualification is preferable, of more importance is a broad range of technical experience as well as the ability and desire to generate and implement future change
Demonstrable development experience, with a proven track record in designing, programming and engineering software
Must be able to organise and manage workload to reflect company priorities
Experience of complete project life cycles from project initiation to implementation
Experience of SOA methodology and implementation
Experience with data modelling, system documentation, software evaluation and selection
Wide-ranging business knowledge or the ability to gain the required knowledge quickly
