The Role:
The IT Office File Remediation Analyst will work on the Windows 7 project to ensure all business critical Office 2003 files are ready for the new Windows7 and Office 2010 environment. Will also assist business users to test any non-critical office files and provide training where required. Will work with the Windows7 team, IT Business Analysts and Business users.
The IT Office File Remediation Analyst is accountable to the Windows 7 Project Manager but reports to the Application Readiness Lead on a day-to-day basis. The IT Office File Remediation Analyst is responsible for ensuring all current business critical Office 2003 files that are required by the business are ready for Office 2010.

Primary Functions & Dimensions:

•Gather all business critical office 2010 files ; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access from the business users.
•Record all files gathered.
•Use software tool to determine Office 2010 readiness.
•Remediate files that are not compatible with Office 2010.
•Ensure files are tested by the business user and ensure signoff is provided.
•Prioritise work in accordance with the deployment schedule.
•Provide support to business users once files have been converted to Office 2010.
•Modify Windows7 and Office 2010 training material to meet E&P UK requirements.
•Provide Windows 7 and Office 2010 training

Managing time to ensure all critical office files are processed in accordance with the Windows 7 deployment schedule.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Computing Science degree, B.Sc. or M.Sc. or comparable education. Non-computing education may be compensated with documented relevant experience of working in similar role for a production / operations facing IT organisation
•Strong communications and networking skills
•Highly developed influencing and interpersonal skills
•Highly motivated, self reliant, problem solver
•Enthusiastic with a questioning and challenging attitude
•Analytical, planning and organisation competency
•In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010
•Knowledge of Training techniques
•Knowledge of Testing process and lifecycle

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Involved in previous Desktop Operating systems upgrade projects
•Knowledge of Business Systems concepts
•Knowledge of Oil and Gas industry business systems
•Multi-tasking abilities
