Our client is a global operator in the oil and gas industry.

The Role:
Basic Job Functions:

Directs, plans, and supervises the provision, implementation and technical support and related services for Technical Services areas, including Desktop Support services, IT infrastructure architecture, Data Centre Operations, and Support Centre operations.

Essential Job Functions
• Leads the architecting, provision, implementation, installation and any subsequent modifications to systems and services within the area of Technical Services. This includes providing services to client staff for PC software, hardware, peripherals, network, storage, servers, databases, monitoring, and applications.

• Co-ordinates the provision of personnel or other assistance towards the effective and efficient operation of the Service Centre and related problem resolution activities. Ensures that Service Centre staff and other appropriate IT&T staff have sufficient information and training on all the applications installed, to provide ready assistance for routine queries from client staff. Implement and leverage ITIL best practices

• Co-ordinates the development, implementation and monitoring of IT security plans and procedures within the Groupement for all computing and network facilities. Takes action with client/user departments to minimize the risk to the business by potential IT security threats.

• Provides significant input to the process of providing information systems and the development of corporate standards and procedures for his area of work. Ensures that ITIL best practices and tools for the development and maintenance of computing facilities are adopted and used effectively.

• Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of Corporate strategies for Data Management, Information Systems, Information Technology and Telecommunications and of annual operating plans.

• Assists with the identification of new and emerging software and hardware technologies and products and the assessment of their relevance and potential value to the Groupement.

• Provides contract management and monitoring, on behalf of client divisions, of the execution of third party contracts for the delivery of related IS products and services.

• Acts as the focal point or technical expert for the systems and technology that the section has implemented in the Groupement and answers questions or provides assistance and technical support to client staff as required.

• Prepares and controls annual section budgets, incorporating anticipated costs for studies, software and hardware. Monitors budget and reports any variances where they occur. Maintains and manages the Corporate Software License Agreements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in Computing Discipline
• 10-12 years; experience in IT, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the Oil and Gas Industry preferred. Must have demonstrated competence and experience in the key areas of :
• IT Infrastructure architecture strategy, implementation, and support.
• project management (PMP preferred)
• team leadership and motivation
• Relationship management, establishing good working relationships with clients, ITT colleagues, and other GP service providers.
• ITIL Best Practices Experience Preferred
• Excellent communication skills in English

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
5 years' experience, at a senior level, in the management,implementation and support of Technical Services functions, namely Desktop services, storage, security, Network services, New Projects and Support Centre operations. Experience in the development and management of ITIL best practices would be advantageous.

The following certifications are advantageous: CCNA, MCSE, A+, ITIL, PMP

Strong knowledge of desktop and server operating systems like Microsoft Windows XP & Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 & 2008, and some knowledge of Linux/UNIX.

Knowledge of HTML, ASP.NET, Java, McAfee, Juniper, Palo Alto and ForeScout (NAC).

French desirable but not essential
