The Role:
Job Purpose:
Develop, implement and maintain IT services, applications, systems and/or procedures.


• Maintain existing technology services, applications, and systems to ensure reliability and performance.
• Enhance and improve existing technology services, applications and/or systems to reflect new business needs.
• Develop new technology services, applications and/or systems to enhance business value.
• Research, evaluate and test technology products to ensure their applicability to Company business requirements.
• Ensure the protection of IT assets at the company.
• Support relevant upgrade projects.
• Collect and analyse technology utilization data to monitor trends and forecast future (IT) requirements.
• Develop and manage project and service proposals, resources and plans.
• Train and mentor newly hired IT Analysts.
• Adhere to policies & procedures and security & safety regulations.
• Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/manager.

Additional duties as per assigned service lines within IT divisions:
• Install, customize and troubleshoot operating systems software and hardware, such as clients, servers, storage, and other devices required to maintain technology functionality.
• Develop and implement services and procedures to effectively monitor and maintain the hardware and operating system.
• Manage data center facilities infrastructure to ensure that servers and other devices have necessary facility management components in place (such as power, cooling, space, etc.) and that safety & security parameters are enforced in the center.
• Evaluate changes to the computing infrastructure and assess the effect they will have on the performance of the system.
• Investigate system outages and hardware failures; put in place mitigation initiatives and fixes as necessary.
• Manage, document and escalate system performance as appropriate to maintain appropriate service levels.

A candidate for IT Technical Analyst role must demonstrate experience with several of the areas, technologies and products listed here. Years of experience, nature of the projects and number of areas—as per the list below—will determine the seniority level:

• WAN, LAN, Wireless, VoIP
• Cisco product family for all of the above
• Network Management: HP SiteScope. NNMi, BSP, Connect-it
• Relationship and service with ISPs and network carriers
• Remote access systems and solutions

• HP blade and standalone servers, enclosures
• Microsoft Windows Server, System Center Operations Manager, System Center Configuration Manager
• Oracle Linux
• HP Systems Insight Manager
• VMWare vSphere, vCenter
• Citrix xenApp, xenDesktop
• EMC Data Protection Advisor, NetWorker, Unisphere

Data Center:
• Utility management: Power, UPS, HVAC
• Facility management: Floor space (rows, racks) design and management
• Backup
o HP NetWorker and DAP administration, tape management, offsite storage management
• Monitoring tools
o HP SiteScope
o Microsoft System Center Operations Manager
• HP Family of enterprise laptops and desktops
• Microsoft Windows 7, Office suite, System Center Configuration Manager
• Symantec Endpoint Protection
• Image maintenance and administration
• Software packaging, shelving and distribution

• Mobile Device Management (MDM), MobileIron MDM
• Relationship with mobile carriers

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Engineering or any related field.
• Proficiency in programming, analysis, and/or service management practices.
