The Role:
The IT Test Analyst will work on the Windows 7 project to ensure all E&P UK business applications are tested to a high standard and to ensure they are ready for the Windows7 and Office 2010 environment. The IT Test Analyst will provide general Business Analysis skills to the Windows 7 project.
The IT Test Analyst is accountable to the Windows 7 Project Manager but reports to the Application Readiness Lead on a day-to-day basis. The IT Test Analyst is responsible for testing and business analysis activities on the Windows 7 project.

Primary Functions & Dimensions:
•Work with IT Business Analysts to ensure project discovers all applications used by the business and requirements are met.
•Work with Application Readiness Analysts to determine which applications require to be tested.
•Work with IT Business Analysts to define the correct test plan for each application.
•Define Windows 7 project testing strategy and plan.
•Determine business availability and schedule test time with the business.
•Setup Windows 7 project area in company test management software and create all relevant test plans.
•Gather test data and expected results
•Run Test cycles with the Business Analysts and Users. Record results.
•Report all failed test to the Application Readiness Analysts and ensure corrective action is performed to ensure successful outcome in the
•Record all final results and update Windows 7 database.

General Business Analysis functions :
•Understand business processes end-to-end.
•Review the range of existing solutions available and present options and recommendations to the business.
•Work with vendors and industry groups.
•Influence customer demand.

Managing time and business expectations to ensure all applications are analysed and tested in accordance with Windows 7 Project schedule.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Computing Science degree, B.Sc. or M.Sc. or comparable education. Non-computing education may be compensated with documented
relevant experience of working in similar role for a production / operations facing IT organisation.

•Highly motivated, self reliant, problem solver.
•Enthusiastic with a questioning and challenging attitude.
•Analytical, planning and organisation competency.
•Ability to make rational decisions under pressure.
•Knowledge of Project lifecycle.
•Knowledge of Testing lifecycle.
•Knowledge of Test Management software and documentation.
•Knowledge of Business Systems concepts.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Involved in previous Desktop Operating systems upgrade projects.
•Knowledge of License Management techniques.
•Knowledge of Oil and Gas industry business systems.
•Knowledge of Project and Contract Management.
•Knowledge of Budgetary formulation and control.
•Multi-tasking abilities.
