The Role:
•Identify, analyse, categorise and determine Windows 7 readiness for all E&P UK applications.
•Remediate, test and package applications as required
•Gather and record all business critical Office 2003 files.
•Determine Office 2010 readiness for all business critical Office 2003 files.
•Remediate and test all critical Office files that are not compatible with Office 2010.
•Ensure application and office files are tested by the business user and signoff is provided.
•Build and deploy all PC’s and Laptops ensuring adherence to current Windows 7 COP standards
•Test new machines
•Install software and applications
•Prioritise work in accordance with the deployment schedule.
•Provide support to business users.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Computing Science degree, B.Sc. or M.Sc. or comparable education. Non-computing education may be compensated with documented relevant experience of working in similar role for a production / operations facing IT organisation
•Strong communications and networking skills
•Highly developed influencing and interpersonal skills
•Highly motivated, self reliant, problem solver
•Enthusiastic with a questioning and challenging attitude
•Analytical, planning and organisation competency
•Knowledge of Microsoft Product suit
•Knowledge of the PC build and deployment process including SCCM and Active Directory
•Knowledge of Software Packaging

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Involved in previous Desktop Operating systems upgrade projects
•Knowledge of Testing process and lifecycle
•Knowledge of Business Systems concepts
•Knowledge of Networks
•Knowledge of basic database administration techniques
•Knowledge of Oil and Gas industry business systems
•Multi-tasking abilities
•Offshore survival training
