Our Client is a global Oil & Gas Operating Company

The Role:
POSITION SUMMARY
This is an individual contributor position that will work closely with both Houston office and operations personnel. Initial responsibility will be to perform joint venture accounting for US assets. Secondarily, responsibility will be data conversion/process change for new instance of SAP.

ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
JV Accountant:
• Prepare Cash Calls and Joint Interest Billings for company operated ventures
• Process Cash Calls and Joint Interest Billings for non-operated ventures
• Assist with monthly variance analysis for income statement and balance sheet
• Set-up and maintain Joint Operating Agreements and Joint Ventures in SAP
• Set-up and maintain Joint Venture details for AFE’s
• Coordinate monthly close; allocations, overhead, cutback
• Monitor and support production handling agreements
• Payout calculations
• Advise/liaise with Accenture JV personnel in India
• Respond to customer inquiries and reconcile receivable accounts
• Sarbanes Oxley compliance documentation
• JV data conversion for SAP
• Process change/improvement in conjunction with new instance of SAP

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of related US accounting experience
Understanding of COPAS policies and procedures
Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related Business field required
Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant certification preferred
Master’s degree in Accounting is a plus
