The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
Purchasing Functions
- Manage the development, maintenance and updating of the contract database (or Record Management) in Livelink, CMS, Sharepoint, Procon for effective and efficient administration of contracts, including Change Order or claim/dispute matters.
- Issue Purchase Orders via SAP and coordinate reporting on spend with Cost Control
- Support project teams in the negotiation with contractors to achieve the mandated project objectives.
- Support project teams in the resolution of commercial and contractual issues with contractors including terms and conditions of contract in collaboration with legal, risk and insurance specialists.
- Maintain a close working relationship with Project Services, Finance, Legal, Cost, Risk and Insurance, Logistics and other functional teams to ensure that CP documentation is compliant with project reporting and controls requirements and all fiscal and legal regulations.
- Maintaining good relationships with customers, partners, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure commitment and support.
- Attend regular meetings i.e. weekly/monthly progress meetings internal and externals with contractor.
- Support CP leads dealing with claims, drafting relating to claims and counter claims including dispute resolutions /arbitration support if any.
Perform diverse administration functions requiring confidentiality, initiative, and sound judgement.
-Coordinate travel - flights, hotels, rental cars, car transport, visas, passport, etc.
-Schedule meetings and conference rooms for the CP Organization.
-Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties and tasks, i.e., arrange catering for meetings.
-Interface professionally with all levels in the organization.
-On boarding of new team members.
-Utmost confidentiality in dealing with Confidential data
-Upkeep of filing and Document Management

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• 1-2 Years of purchasing experience preferred.
• Careful, meticulous and motivated self-starter with a background in administrative support and an interest in pursuing a career in Contracting and Procurement.
• Previous knowledge of working with multi-national and multi-cultural teams, considered a plus.
• Previous knowledge of technical, legal, finance, taxation and commercial issues, considered a plus.
• Managing internal and external stakeholders.
• Effective communications at all levels of management both internally and externally.
• University Degree, College, or combination of experience and education.
