A British multinational utility company its principal activity is the supply of electricity and gas to businesses and consumers in the United Kingdom and North America. It is the largest supplier of gas to domestic customers in the UK, and one of the largest suppliers of electricity. The Role:
ROLE OF DEPARTMENT:

The Subsurface Team gathers and analyses subsurface information with the purpose to build and maintain a model of the subsurface to provide management with a technically sound understanding of the productive potential of fields and/or potential fields as basis for management decision-making. They analyse business opportunities with respect to subsurface information and support daily operational activities to optimise field production, ensuring that each well and field delivers anticipated economic value. They operate in accordance with all relevant international and national legislation and regulations, including Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSE).

JOB SUMMARY:

This role exists to provide high quality technical reservoir/petroleum engineering advice and insight to NL Management team, Operations and the Subsurface team. The role holder provides a link between the Subsurface team and onshore/offshore operations group, developing strong working relationships with field operations personnel. If required organize and prepare detailed programs for offshore intervention operations that have been agreed with the Subsurface and Operations groups, ensuring that they are carried out safely in accordance with the requirements and efficiently within budget. To provide reservoir/well data to the management in an accurate and timely manner, including report writing and presentations.

In more detail the specific project will give the candidate full exposure to revitalising mature SNS gas wells both in terms of managing the operational aspects (on the platform), as well as the reservoir/petroleum engineering aspects and project management and planning (which includes technical reporting and presenting).

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. SUBSURFACE POLICY AND ANNUAL PLAN
Work with and advise the Subsurface Team on the well remediation strategy and policy, production plans and technical opportunities, adding technical input from a reservoir engineering perspective and in line with NL strategy, license goals and commitments and sales-gas contractual obligations, to ensure anticipated revenues are generated from operations and the management team get a clear view of the anticipated returns on investment proposals. Help prepare technical programs.
2. RESERVOIR MODELLING
If required construct and maintain fit-for-purpose well models. In situations that allow, build simulation models in cooperation and with the Subsurface Team define reservoir parameter ranges; with the project/ production team(s) range of enhancement scenarios. Remodel wells on the basis new information or production updates, in order to gain a better understanding of the well production environment leading to improved forecasting accuracy and (where appropriate) better well deliverability, field management strategy, reserves estimates and production planning.

3. REPORTING
Provide technical reports and updates related to on-going work and investment proposals to management, present results and findings in line with expectations of field lifecycle internally and if required to partners and authorities, to provide insight and contribute to their decision-making.
4. CONTINUAL IMPROVEMENT
Keep abreast of developments in own discipline, evaluate the use of current techniques, methods and analysis tools, initiate and identify opportunities for improvement, implement it after agreement with the Senior Reservoir Engineer and the Subsurface Manager, to improve work flow efficiency and contribute to better commercial decision-making.
5. HEALTH, SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY
Comply with HSE procedures, rules and regulations and contribute to building awareness among other personnel in- and outside the department, in order to maintain and continuously improve a safe and healthy working environment. Ensure corporate and NL standards are met in well and flow-testing operations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• MSc. in Petroleum Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the E&P industry
• Basic Offshore Safety Training, MIST training and a valid offshore medical record
• Familiar with other Subsurface disciplines, uncertainty and risks and well operations
• Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
