The Company:
Our Major O&G client has a Junior Topside Planning/ Scheduling Engineer position open immediately!

The Role:
Plans & Procedures Critical Responsibilities:
Participate in developing the Project Planning/Scheduling Controls strategy, plans and procedures, reflecting both Client, (JV) and contractor roles and responsibilities.
Adhere to the segment financial and business and project processes.

Critical Tools/Techniques/Processes-
CVP and support of the Stage Gate Review process
Cost and Schedule Execution Plan
Review and audit Contractors procedures and processes

Critical Deliverables-
Project Schedule Control Strategy (Planning, scheduling and reporting)
Project Execution Plans (Project Control Schedule)
Project Controls plan (including WBS)
Project Procedures (Planning, scheduling and reporting)
Planning, scheduling and reporting section of Contract documents.
Post project lessons learned and closeout reports

Estimating Critical Responsibilities:
Provide the necessary plans/schedules to ensure the development of proper estimates and studies within a project stage and for sanction.
Coordinate and/or develop appropriate internal and external schedule benchmarks/technical limits.

Critical Tools/Techniques/Processes-
Benchmarking and metrics
‘eProjects’ (stage and closeout data)
Consistency checks of cost estimates and schedules (estimated productivities and hours, work-week,etc.)

Critical Deliverables-
Estimate Basis and plan
Cost and schedule indices

Planning Critical Responsibilities:
Prepare and implement project wide WBS, working with the Cost Engineer.
Understand the technical scope of the work and the right sequence and duration of activities to create a viable project plan to achieve the business objectives.
Coordinate preparation of schedule risk analysis.

Critical Tools / Techniques / Processes-
Schedule management software Primavera Version 6.2 or greater
Schedule Buy-in by Project Team, approval by Project Manager (equivalent) (and/or JV)
Probabilistic schedule analysis

Scheduling Critical Responsibilities:
Understand what resources are required for executing the set of activities and when activities can be performed given competing resource demands.
Ensure the preparation and development of appropriate detail and summary plans/schedules; support/development of the Master Control Schedule.
Implement, and monitor schedules within each project stage and for entire project until completion/close-out.
Look ahead to ensure readiness to progress forward works.
Recognize opportunities and resource optimizations to most efficiently execute the planned set of activities.
Ensure the preparation and develop the interface schedules.
Develop a detailed schedule for all key Close-Out activities and tracks progress against this schedule.

Specialty schedules (Regulatory, subsea, major lifts, shut-downs/tie-ins, commissioning, etc)
Schedule KPIs

Project Management of Change Critical Responsibilities:
Provide schedule input to and implement schedule element of the project management of change procedure.
Interfacing with the Change Coordinators on each team.

Risk Management Critical Responsibilities:
Provide schedule input to and implement the schedule element of risk management plan.
Coordinate the development of risk mitigation plans. (as delegated)
Link schedule element of risk process to change process and estimate
Participate in Schedule Risk Reviews, Monte Carlo simulations, development of schedule risk models

Schedule risks and opportunities
Risk reports as required

Reporting Critical Responsibilities:
Prepare and implement project wide progress measurement and reporting system, including roll-up levels, section weightings and reporting cycle calendar.
Developing and issuing various reports to appropriate stakeholders.
Prepare and present Project information to appropriate stakeholders.
Develop commercial interface.

Client (and/or JV) progress system
Contractors timesheet, progress and performance system

Progress & performance/productivity reports
Project Historical Report (lessons learned, statistical info for benchmarking, etc.)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering degree, or appropriate experience

Five years upstream oil & gas experience

Five years project control experience on major projects

Some experience or working knowledge of Primavera (P6), MS Project software and other MS Office suite tools.
