The Company:
A Major Operator

The Role:
Sample preparation and analysis on various substances such as refinery offgas, heavy oil, refined oil, catalyst, and unknown materials.
Maintain analytical equipment including routine calibrations and periodic rebuilds.
Conduct analytical methods include GC analysis/SimDist/HTSimDist, HPLC, XRF, viscometry, density measurement, Karl Fisher, Raman Spectrometry, and TGA techniques.
Perform data entry into the lab information system database. Completion of all logs and records related to analysis for traceability. Report results to senior analyst.
Perform non-routine lab analysis as required including possible operational work.
Responsible for the operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of the microreactor units supporting the testing and development of new and commercial catalysts.
The individual will support the Criterion business, Research and Development and Technical Service and plays a critical role by providing assistance to Project Leads through the delivery of timely, accurate and reproducible reactor data.
Support Goal Zero and HSSE performance. Safety practices and procedures including LOTO, PSM, PTW, PPE, MOC, HEMP, Hazop, safety inspections and operating, procedures.
Work with Scientists and team members on setting and executing work priorities. Unit startups/shutdowns, catalyst loading and unloading, maintain lined-out operations. Manage multiple units, provide timely and accurate activity results.
Data collection and management.
Proactive troubleshooting and problem solving. Equipment maintenance, calibration and validation.
Procurement activities including tracking and ordering of equipment and consumables.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from a recognized institution in science discipline.
2+ years experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
Alternative combinations of education and experience listed above may be accepted in lieu of degree.
Demonstrated Goal Zero mindset and experience with WTC safety practices and procedures. Prior experience with the operation of pilot plant or other reactor systems with demonstrated troubleshooting and equipment maintenance skills
In depth knowledge of lab safety standards and actively promotes safe operations.
Maintain housekeeping standards.
Mechanical aptitude a plus
Perform special assignments such as handling toxic chemicals safely in accordance with regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of MS Office Suite products (Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel)
