The Company:
Our client, a major oil & gas operator, is currently looking for a Lab Technician.

The Role:
The job duties include the following.
• Work as a team member of the Project, Asset Inspection and Inspection team of the Mechanical, Materials, and Integrity Department.
• Plan/administer/grade NDE tool/personnel qualification tests.
• Conduct NDE lab tests supporting R&D work on tool/technique development and/or evaluation
• Provide technical services to the company's assets (primarily in the US but some international work as well) – performing field inspections such as MUT crack detection/sizing, AUT crack inspection, AUT thickness mapping, Phased Array UT, TOFD, ECT, High Temperature Hydrogen Attack inspection, Pulsed Eddy Current testing, guided wave inspection, AET, etc.
• Teach UT thickness gauging and profile radiography training classes
• Perform NDE contractor QA/QC
• Conduct NDE procedure reviews for compliance with industry codes & standards and Shell internal requirements

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate must meet the following qualification requirements.
• Associate degree in NDE with at least 8 years of practical experience in NDE, or a high school diploma with at least 10 years of practical experiences in NDE
• Formal training and practical experiences in MUT crack detection/sizing, AUT crack detection/sizing, AUT thickness mapping, Phased Array UT, ECT, RT, and AET
• ASNT Level II in UT, PT, and MT. Additional Level II’s on other NDE techniques is a plus.
• API QUTE and QUTE-PA certificates. API QUSE cert is highly preferred.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Ability to prepare inspection proposals and write inspection reports
• Ability to give presentation on inspection plans and results
• Ability to prepare NDE training materials and teach NDE training classes
• Ability to interface with customers
• Ability to work in team environment
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards, e.g., API 510, API 570,
