The Company:
Our Client is an independent Australian oil and gas company with a global presence playing a key role in supplying energy to our region.They are one of the worlds leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The Role:
Responsibilities

• To provide Chemical and physical composition data of process, gas and environmental samples that is factual, accurate, reliable and timely.
• Examination and authorising the validity and accuracy of analytical data
• Work flexibly across all analysis routines with competency/capability.
• Responsible for use, care, maintenance and calibration of Laboratory analytical equipment.
• Undertake all training and perform allocated team roles.
• Procure consumables by SAP work order.
• Creation of work orders for laboratory instrument, systems and building maintenance.
• Develop the provision of a safe, cost effective, high quality and flexible service to customers.
• Assist in the development of an effective work culture by open and honest communication, committed team membership and flexible use of own skills.
• Provide sample composition results that support work groups to maintain facility operational integrity plan offshore and onshore production and to validate engineering models.
• Contribute to a general understanding of production system optimisation issues and varying operational constraints.
• Alert focal points/shift team leaders to data trends not consistent with historical records
• Act as a Focal Point analyst in any area as required.

Skills Required

• Managing workload with regards to non-routine and routine analysis requiring close attention to planning and good communication skills.
• General knowledge of analytical procedures, techniques and equipment, available within the laboratory.
• A general understanding of NATA testing requirements to ensure quality systems are maintained.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum Associate Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline, tertiary qualification are desirable but not essential.
• At least 2 years experience of hydrocarbon testing and analysis or 4 years laboratory experience in a laboratory
• Well developed computing skills (Microsoft Word, excel).
• Familiar with the application of analytical statistics in evaluating test methods and quality
control.
• Familiar with working in a NATA accredited Laboratory
• Satisfactory oral, written and reporting communication skills.
