Our Client is a Leading Global Operator in the Oil and Gas Industry.

Laboratory/Coreflood Rig Technician
Unit/Asset: Upstream Technology

Post Details:

• Reports to: Laboratory Manager

Purpose of post
To work alongside Reservoir Engineers, Expert Technologists and Laboratory Technicians to conduct a range tests on Core (Rock) samples and oil reservoir fluids. The role will involve a combination of sample management, preparation of fluids, physical measurements using a range of laboratory equipment including core flood rigs, generate results and providing high quality written reports to agreed schedules.
To provide accurate and timely laboratory support to Core flood activities enabling progression of projects relevant to business strategy

Key Dimensions
Responsibility for managing own workload, under guidance and direction from Expert Technologists.
• Must comply with site HSE requirements.
• Must be comfortable and competent in a laboratory environment and be able to accurately follow test procedures.
• Must be able to accurately record results and show ability to interpret them.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
• To perform a range of scientific and rig tests to set procedures.
• Conduct experiments to characterise and prepare Core samples for Core flood evaluation, using pressurised rigs.
• Conduct physical analysis of fluids including density measurement.
• Prepare solutions to exacting chemical content and properties.
• Catalogue and submit samples for further in-house & external physical and chemical testing
• Collation, interpretation and reporting of results

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years laboratory experience
• Qualifications (Minimum): HNC/HND Science (Physics/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering)
• Qualifications (Desirable): BSc Degree (Physics/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering)
• Basic understanding of analytical techniques
• PC literate – Word, Excel.
• Good communication skills
