The Company:
Our client is one of the world's largest integrated energy companies conducting business in countries all around the globe.

The Role:
Technicians must perform a range of standard and some non-standard analytical tests in support of R&D and manufacturing operations, working with some supervision, as required. This position involves working in the solid and surfaces team, which will involve organising time efficiently and prioritising samples throughout the day in a very busy laboratory.

Candidates are expected to:

•Understand & apply appropriate lab procedures with modification, as necessary & with assistance.
•Communicate (verbal & written) test results & issues as required.
•Perform routine instrument maintenance.
•Coordinate vendor service as needed.
•Expected to work to TASE & P&T HSE standards.
•Work conducted in compliance with TASE Quality Management System.

Specific skills required for this position are:

•Experience of using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) in a laboratory environment.
•Knowledge of related techniques such as EDX, XRD, optical microscopy, metallurgical sample preparation, etc.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent in a physical science (e.g. physics, chemistry, engineering, materials).
Basic lab skills with attention to detail & quality.
Aptitude for instrumental analysis.
Experience in calibration, standards preparation & troubleshooting required.
Method validation experience.
General computing skills necessary for instrument operation, word processors, spreadsheets & electronic communications.
