The Role:
Mechanical testing at LNG/cryogenic conditions (-196°C)
• Performance evaluation of materials, focusing on polymers & composites
• Determining chemical resistance of polymers (exposure testing)
• Permeation & diffusivity measurements in novel materials
• Piping system qualification testing
• Research for materials selection (desktop/literature) under guidance
• Failure investigations (with engineering staff)
• Frequent interaction with engineering staff for discussion of results, designing new experiments and reporting
• Act as fall-back operator for high temperature / high pressure metal testing equipment

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Accurate style of working
• Good reporting skills
• Background in materials performance evaluation and/or chemical/mechanical engineering
• MBO+ / HBO level education (BSc)
• English speaking and writing

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Dutch speaking and writing
