The Company:
Our client are a rapidly expanding, independent oil and gas exploration and production company, with exploration licenses across the Middle East and Africa.

The Role:
This role is based in Kurdistan, Northern Iraq.

The candidate should be a self-motivated person with experience in data acquisition, sampling and basic analysis of hydrocarbons, and any other fluids that may be encountered in the Oil and Gas Industry, conducted in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner.

Overview of Assignment

1. Be fully conversant with company safety and environmental manuals and procedures.
1.1. It is necessary to be fully conversant with company safety regulations.
1.2. Complete understanding of environmental legislation.
1.3. Demonstrate willingness to participate in the preservation of the environment.
1.4. Avoid using toxic and environmentally unfriendly chemicals.
1.5. The candidate shall be familiar with the hazards of Hydrogen Sulphide.
1.6. Be aware of First Aid treatment if toxic chemicals are ingested and able to communicate with medical staff.
1.7. Be familiar with the hazards of Hydrogen Sulphide.
1.8. Maintain and file HAZCHEM datasheets of all chemicals employed by the company.
1.9. Participate in regular emergency drills and safety meetings.
1.10. Attend courses as required by the company.

2. Sampling and chemical analysis
2.1. Conversant with basis analytical methods e.g. API, ASTM etc.
2.2. Present data in an appropriate form to supervisors and managers.
2.3. At regular intervals, conduct API, BS&W and RVP analysis.
2.4. The candidate should be familiar with conversions from API to Density.
2.5. Test quality of export crude oil, interpret results and report findings.
2.6. Be familiar with sample collection methods, ensure representative samples are taken for the purpose of analysis.
2.7. Maintain appropriate log books and files, and present for inspection on demand.

3. Sanitary disposal of samples and safety related tasks.
3.1. Dispose of samples properly, do not pollute the environment.
3.2. Ensure safety garments, gloves and goggles are worn at appropriate times.
3.3. Ensure adequate ventilation in the laboratory at all times.
3.4. Store toxic and environmentally unfriendly chemicals separately and ensure they are kept in a secured area.
3.5. Ensure adequate servicable fire extinguishers are located at strategic locations.

4. Productivity and standards of performance.
4.1. Develop and maintain team work with fellow employees.
4.2. Monitor standards, review and recommend improvements.
4.3. The candidate shall be fully conversant with the company's 'Code of Conduct'.
4.4. Making or receiving unauthorized payments is prohibited.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Kurdish speaking
- 3 years in Oil and Gas or Chemical Industry
- Degree in Industrial Chemistry
