The Company:
A Major Oil & Gas Client

The Role:
The Laboratory Technician/R&D Assistant is a member of an experimental R&D team, with responsibility for supporting ongoing programs by carrying out the preparation and synthesis of inorganic compounds and catalysts utilizing conventional Chemistry techniques.


Key Accountabilities

•Carry out experiments according to clearly defined safety and environment guidelines.
•Partner with program scientists and project leaders in the planning and execution of experiments.
•Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory record keeping.
•Perform data entry, records management and effective communication of results.
•Demonstrate initiative by suggesting lab improvement projects through application of new techniques or new equipment.
•Implement equipment modifications under the direction of client's personnel.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Must possess a high degree of safety consciousness and demonstrate basic safety skills in the handling of toxic / hazardous materials.
•Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
•Basic knowledge of reaction chemistry and chemical nomenclature, and experience with basic analytical instrumentation (GC, AA, MS, etc.).
•Associates degree or equivalent work experience in chemical synthesis or chemical laboratory operations preferred.
•Skill in general wet chemistry techniques.
•Ability to multi-task and work well with others in a team environment.
•Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
•Basic computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
