Job Title: Laboratory Technicians
Job Location: Ellesmere Port
Rate/Salary: Competitive
Duration: 6 months +
Residency: UK/EU

The Company:
Our client is one of the world's largest integrated energy companies conducting business in countries all around the globe.

The Role:
Technicians must perform a range of standard and some non-standard analytical tests in support of R&D and manufacturing operations, working with some supervision, as required. This position involves organising time efficiently and prioritising samples throughout the day in a very busy laboratory.

Main accountabilties of the role are:

•Working with scientists & customers, safely carry out standard & some non-standard methods in area of technical responsibility, including; gas chromatography, liquid/ion chromatography, elemental analysis, NMR, microscopy/X-ray diffraction.
•Including skill areas of; Fuels, Lubricants, Petrochem, Waste & Effluent analysis.
•Understand & apply appropriate lab procedures with modification, as necessary & with assistance.
•Communicate (verbal & written) test results & issues as required.
•Perform routine instrument maintenance.
•Coordinate vendor service as needed.
•Expected to work to TASE & P&T HSE standards.
•Work conducted in compliance with TASE Quality Management System.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Basic lab skills with attention to detail & quality.
•Aptitude for instrumental analysis.
•Experience in calibration, standards preparation & troubleshooting required.
•Method validation experience.
•General computing skills necessary for instrument operation, word processors, spreadsheets & electronic communications.
