The Role:
Job Summary

Lead and coordinate administrative and contractual support for the exploration assets for which the Affiliate is responsible and manage the negotiation processes for interests relating to the operation.
The Landman is the individual involved in negotiating the acquisition or disinvestment of E&P assets or negotiating business agreements to explore and/or develop the oil & gas assets.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure the review and provision of the Affiliate's administrative and contractual support for existing contracts and agreements regarding exploration assets in which Ecopetrol S.A. has an interest.
Coordinate the decision-making authorities' administrative tasks regarding existing contracts and agreements on the exploration assets.
Be responsible for the negotiation, preliminary documentation and review of agreement forms in connection with the appropriation, acquisition or transfer of mutual interest, royalty and any other kind of interest, connected with the operation.
Ensure that the required assistance is provided for participation in bids in the GOM, directed by the Mineral Management Service.
Ensure that the required assistance is provided with regard to the acquisition of, and/or an interest in, assets.
Ensure the consolidation and provision of information related to changes in governmental regulations that affect how operations are carried out.
Ensure the provision of information regarding activities, strategies and events carried out by industry companies that are present in the GOM.
Manage compliance with third-party contract obligations related to the transfer of technology.
Represent Ecopetrol S.A. in the cases delegated to them, protecting the company’s interests when dealing with partners and governmental agencies during the asset exploration phase.
Work toward successful interaction with partners and governmental agencies in order to pursue the E&P activity of affiliate EIA.

Handle such other duties as are assigned by his/her immediate superior.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Requirements:

Education: Landman & contracts, or attorney with more than 10 years of experience, or attorney with Landman training.

Experience related to job duties: At least 10 years of experience in similar positions within industry in the GOM.

Knowledge and experience in the hydrocarbons industry, including negotiations, contract preparation, government relations, consultancy, strategy and business relations and development.
