The Company:
Company seeks Houston based land professional for Eagle Ford Shale Team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years Land experience in oil and gas leasing, title work, oil and gas contracts, regulatory work and private, state, and federal onshore oil and gas operations necessary to develop and negotiate transactions with minimal supervision. Texas land experience preferred, but all relevant experience will be considered.

The Role:
Pro-actively seek business opportunities that are in areas of interest to Company. Build rapport with leassors, government officials and industry counterparts to enhance our commitment to be the Partner of Choice. Negotiate, prepare, review and handle a variety of Land contracts and transactions, including oil and gas leases, surface agreements, assignments, joint operating agreements, farm-in/farm-out agreements, miscellaneous letter agreements, AMI's, etc.
Coordinate Land broker activities associated with county, state and/or federal record checking for preparation of ownership and title information. Handle lease acquisition of private, state, and federal lands, as applicable. Order and review title opinions, secure title curative and request title approval for drilling and division order purposes. Assist the Division Order group with initial ownership set up.
Research MOC acreage position and contracts through Tobin Land System to assist in well generation and reviewing outside proposals. Review term leases and provide recommendations for lease cancellations, renewals, rental obligations, as well as decision point reminder review.
Coordinate with geology, engineering, regulatory and Law personnel to represent Company’s interests before the Texas Railroad Commission or other regulatory agencies.
Make presentations to Company management, departments and teams, as well as potential partners, groups, etc. Assist and participate with engineers, geologists and drilling teammates in the planning and preparation of the asset team drilling program.
Maintain knowledge of MOC acreage inventory and Land positions in assigned areas, as well as monitoring competitor's Land positions. Provide information for new development opportunities and offer ideas for Land strategies and terms. Prepare and update Eagle Ford Rig Tracker for all MOC operated wells and prepare Land summaries for all MOC and outside operated wells in your assigned area.
Prepare and maintain unit and pooling agreements in cooperation with internal team members and external partners.
Moderate travel required. Trips to the San Antonio office and various counties, fields, and surface locations are required periodically and may require overnight travel.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

Degree: Bachelors required
Major Discipline: PLM, Energy Management or Energy Commerce Degree Preferred
Minimum of five years of experience in exploration and/or production Land activities.
