The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experienced engineering professionals.

The Role:
To co-ordinate activities for MP&L Gaydon during production and launch of all models; including ongoing model year changes and liaising between all departments in our clients business on all MP&L related issues.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks
• To attend Team reviews, PST, Gateways and Launch Control Meetings and represent MP&L ensuring all relevant parties are informed of any concerns raised and action is taken.
• Working with the Launch team tracking build status and ensuring correct parts are available to support build programs. Complete LQOS status reporting for all attributes where Gaydon MP&L responsible i.e. change for all carryover parts / packaging readiness. Support launch until Job 1 + 90 to ensure handover to Operations. Run 12 Panel and MP&L launch reviews for all models.
• To enforce all change discipline during all running changes to ensure stable BOM, reporting any concerns to the correct department and ensuring permanent corrective action is in place in a timely manner. Run Open-to-Go meetings and manage weekly review with all departments; managing free issue parts control where applicable.
• To communicate and manage to resolution any Launch related issues to the respective areas (Engineering, Eng. Services, MP&L, Purchasing and Quality). Ensure actions are taken and permanent corrective action is in place to avoid recurrence.
• Develop metrics to demonstrate progress of Launch parts into factory and concerns raised giving full report on any issues known. Process improvement actions to areas which require addressing to assist Launch team and MP&L Analyst to control parts into Gaydon.
• To implement and manage MP&L processes for new model year introductions and model year changes and minimising obsolescence within our client.
• To co-ordinate regular BOM alignment between with Engineering Services.
• Run regular Open-to-Go meetings to identify issues and remove roadblocks to running and carryover Engineering changes. This meeting would include NML, Purchasing and Engineering Programs.
• Responsible for all obsolescence and stock loss reporting and co-ordination, i.e. reports on cause and manage visibility into Gaydon Finance. Responsible for the relevant budget and ensuring all causes are known and the generic problem resolution is managed.
• To co-ordinate production parts issues between MP&L Analysts and Buyers at Gaydon and the supply base to ensure the correct parts are supplied for the correct build phase.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree / HNC in a Manufacturing / Logistics discipline.
• Experience of managing a New Model Launch in the automotive industry.
• Knowledge of engineering change and Bill of Material structures.
• Good computer skills and reporting competence (use of spreadsheets/ data tables).
• Manage and facilitate different areas of the business to gain consensus and lead others.
• Experience in facilitating project or driving change into an operation role.
• Cost management skills to control budgets and obsolescence.
• Analytical skills to set KPI’s and measure performance.
• Post holder must be self-starting and confident in own ability to succeed.
• Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels of the company.
• Required to work outside of normal hours as necessary to ensure problem resolution. Support during Launch phases is critical and can be unsociable hours.
