The Company:
Our client, a major oil and gas operator, seeks a Lead Civil / Structural Engineer to join their team.

The Role:
• As a member of the Downstream Engineering Team, this position will support the site preparation and road related design work through Phases 3 and 4.
• Position will serve as a company representative, in the Contractor's office and will be a member of a multi-functional project team responsible for supporting the site preparation, site protection and access road deliverables for the facility.
• Technical areas of competency include land surveying specifically addressing boundaries fence lines and utility location; hydraulics of open channels and culverts; permanent and temporary roadway engineering; and earthworks particularly cut and fill.
• Provide review of deliverables performed by the downstream contractor to ensure design meets company specifications, basis of design, FEED and safety standards.

• Must be committed to incident free operations.
• Must be able to champion safety performance of company and demonstrate safety leadership with the Contractor.
• Possess a good understanding of safe design and operating practices.

Travel

• Variable up to 10% during engineering

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degreed Civil Engineer
• A minimum of 10 to 15 years experience in site preparation, site protection, drainage and road design.
• Experience with major oil and gas facilities is required.
• Will provide interface between various entities on the project team.
• Possess ability to establish direction, motivate, and drive decisions.
• Commutation skills are critical.
• Prior experience in design contractor's office is beneficial.
• Ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary input as well as external stakeholder management is preferred.
