The Company:
A multi-national Oil and Gas Operator involved in a World Class Expansion Development being fabricated in Korea.

The Role:
Joining a Multi-national team based in one of the World's Largest Fabrication yards, this is an exciting long term (3 years+) role for an experienced QC Lead Coating/PFP Inspector to be part of a World Class Development.
The role will be based in Okpo, Geoje Island on an Expat basis and will report to the Reporting to Quality Manager- Okpo for this World Class Project

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Support all HES Activities / Initiatives
• Observe for unsafe acts / unsafe conditions and raise observation cards.
• Participate in Behavioral Based Safety (BBS).
• Fully support and participate in all Injury and Incident Free (IIF) initiatives.
• Compliance with Ethics policies.
• Adheres to Project Execution Procedures.
• Monitor implementation of company, project and sub-contract HSE policies and procedures
• Train all company coatings/PFP inspectors when required.
• Supervise staff QC Coatings/ PFP Inspectors
• Review and approve Contractor Coatings/PFP ITPs, procedures and qualifications
• Verify materials are correct, properly stored and applied.
• Verify coatings/PFP equipment and facilities is adequate for the work and calibrated when required
• Verify compliance to Project Quality Plan, specifications and standards
• Monitor progress of all quality, inspection and testing activities against contractor and sub-contractor ITP’s
• Provide technical competence and quality/inspection verification of work conformance to Project requirements
• Liaise with client and RA to coordinate ITP activities in accordance with documented and planned requirements
• Monitor implementation of company, project and sub-contract HSE policies and procedures
• To review the applicable paint system compatibility.
• To review and witness the qualification of the Sand Blasters/Painters
• Review of method statements of painting and passive fire protection application.
• To ensure the readiness of the QA/QC requirements are met before start of painting/coating/PFP application.
• To initiate Inspection requests for client’s monitoring inspections.
• Monitor and report blasting operations to include chloride tests, checking of blast profile and surface cleanliness and
• Monitor and verify the calibration/validation of Sand Blasting/Painting Equipment and tools.
• Monitor and verify the Air Temperature, Dew Point, Relative Humidity.
• Inspect and verify WFT, DTF by using the relevant inspection tools.
• To review and confirm the sub-contractors inspections reports, internal NCR’s etc.
• Contribute coatings/PFP data inputs into the QC Module Team periodic reports

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A minimum of 10+ years of experience with a proven ability to work with contractor personnel in a mentoring/developmental role
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets
• Effective communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
• Previous Korean Yards Experience
• Degree / Diploma (completed post-secondary or higher education) - this can be substituted by relevant operational experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Inspectors shall demonstrate a thorough working knowledge and proven ability of all phases and types of critical coating applications and methods and recognized industry standards and critical coatings, including application and inspection of Passive Fire Protection systems.
• Inspectors shall be certified as a minimum National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Level II Certification, or equivalent standard acceptable to Company.
• Tertiary/trade qualifications in a related discipline
