The Role:
Site based Lead Contract Engineer supporting the FPSO Project Manager in Korea on the L&O contract with Teekay
As a key member of the Project Contracts and Procurement Group, the focus for this position comprises responsibility for leading delivery of C&P activities working as part of a team. Expected to provide timely, qualitative and value adding procurement services in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Facets of the role include:
• Responsibility for C&P delivery of contract management and administration for the FPSO;
• Building effective relationships with major project contractors and suppliers;
• Promoting C&P functional excellence;
• Ensuring compliance with BG’s business principles, the Corporate Governance Control Framework and Value Assurance Framework
• Contractual support for Knarr Project C&P Manager

The overriding responsibility is to satisfy the project FPSO delivery line’s contractual requirements, including but not limited to being responsible for the delivery of the following:
• Accountable for all C&P activities within the project delivery line the individual is assigned to in accordance with BG C&P Policies and Authorities.
• Management of variations and claims
• Provide input to project reporting.
• Ensures C&P compliance with political and regulatory framework.
• Represent the project delivery line for C&P matters with internal and external stakeholders including the licence partners.
• Responsible for supporting the FPSO site team to ensure adequate compliance with HSSE, audit, governance and Quality control requirements to enable the project to enforce BG Group standards in these areas.
• May be required to receive material requisitions, obtain quotes and/or bids, place purchase or service orders, follow-up, expediting, logistics, importation and cost allocation.
• May be required to deputise for the Knarr Project C&P Manager, when necessary
• Expected to identify potential supply chain savings.
• Procon and Performis focal point within project delivery line

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience of a similar site based contract management and variation management role in the oil and gas sector.
• Experience of working effectively with contractors and other stakeholders
• Demonstrates full understanding of HSSE requirements and knows how to apply them within C&P context.
• Requires working knowledge of contract law.
• Able to negotiate contractual and commercial agreements and associated provisions
• Good communication, influencing and inter-personal skills with the professional credibility and cultural sensitivity to handle supplier/contractor organisations (up to management level).
• Effective networker with ability to maintain good working relationships, whilst maintaining objectivity and pragmatism.
