The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
• Work for an international Oil & Gas company on a Coal Seam Gas project
• Fly in Fly Out rotational position within Australia (19/9 roster)
• Contract role until the end of 2013

In this role you will work within the larger Contracts and Procurement team offering support to project work, focusing on Field Compressor Stations. Project work may also extend to Water, Pipelines, Gathering Stations, Central Processing Plants, Infrastructure, Automation, and General Project Support.

The Lead Contracts Administrator will oversee the contracts on the Upstream Project based in Chinchilla. You will evaluate claims and recommend an equitable adjustment pursuant to the conditions of the contract.

In addition, the incumbent will provide support on contractual disputes, including making recommendations on rights, remedies and mediation. You will also develop a system to assist the management team to monitor contract issues. The incumbent will oversee the work of two other Contracts Administrators focusing on post award contracts.

You will be responsible for:
• Interfacing with the Project Controls team to monitor the Budget Forecast, Future Forecast, Original Budget, Current Budget, Budget Variance, Pending Changes, Growth, Contingency and Cost to date
• Produce and maintain relevant reports covering weekly progress, staffing requirements, financial planning, and long term progress schedules
• Process monthly progress claims
• Tracking of contractual deliverables and maintaining insurances

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Associate of the RICS or equivalent
• Strong background in Construction, Engineering or Quantity Surveying
• Experience in Senior Contracts Administration positions, including developing and executing contract strategies and plans
• Record of formulating and administering contract types including EPCM, lump sum EPIC and EPC
• Experience negotiating insurance and contractual claims

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• QS or legal training
