The Role:
Fircroft have been asked to source a Lead Contracts Engineer for midstream project to provide support to the Contracts Manager for all project activities within the Gladstone area.
• Sunny Gladstone location
• Long term 12 to 24 month contract opportunity
• Work for the CSG project owner
The Lead Contracts Engineer will represent the contracts and procurements team within the drilling projects, whilst supporting the Midstream Contracts Manager.
Typically, the incumbent will compile ITTs and Evaluation Procedures necessary to implement project execution strategies and plans. This includes coordinating the bidding, evaluation and award process in accordance with agreed plans and procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Post award contracts administration
• Establishing execution plans for contract area of responsibility
• Following a thorough and systematic approach in managing contractual matters between company and contractor and preparing commercial and contractual correspondence during the implementation of the contracts
• Ensuring tracking systems are maintained for all contractual correspondence
• Maintaining tracking registers of Contract Values and VOs
• Compliance to the contract administration process
• Preparing and managing the contract review process
• Ensure a formal approved contract administration process is in place
• Identifying and working to reduce any potential claims and variations to contracts
• Coordinate the investigation of claims and variations and provide written reports to support the management of claims
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Associate of the Royal Institute Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent
• Substantial experience or mastery of contract management for operational, drilling or project contracting
• Significant demonstrable experience in contracts and procurement in major oil and gas projects contracting
• International contracting
• Experience in developing and executing contract strategies and plans
• Experience in negotiating Contractual and Insurance Claims
• Detailed market knowledge of a minimum of 5 key industry market areas (ie CBM, onshore construction, engineering and procurement, etc)
• Proven experience in contract management
• In-depth experience of formulating and administering different contract types including EPCM, lump sum EPIC, EPC, Unit Rate and reimbursable contracts in particular
• Good communication and presentation skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Able to escalate and influence Project Manager and other discipline managers effectively in order to maintain progress during contracting and contract management process
