The Company:
Our client is a major oil and gas company within Australia and is the largest producer of gas to the domestic market within the country. Active for more than 40 years, they have the largest exploration portfolio by area and are currently listed as one of Australia's Top 30 Companies.

The Role:
• Immediate start
• Brisbane CBD based corporate office environment
• 6 Months Contract (covering a long service leave of the incumbent)

As the Lead Cost Engineer, you will coordinator all aspects of cost control, reporting and contract administration for the Appraisal, Pre-development, Concept and Definition projects being managed by the Appraisal & Development Group, who are responsible for identifying the most optimum way to develop the CSG acreage in Queensland. Leading a team of 4, you will provide the functional and asset managers team with ongoing project cost analysis, reporting and project forecasting.

Responsibilities:
• Development and maintenance of standard Cost / Work / Breakdown Structure across projects
• Input into the development of the cost estimates and to align with the approved project scopes
• Conduct and report on project cost risk analyses
• Manage processes from requisitions, purchase orders, invoice receipting to payments
• Ensure that Contractors comply with Company's’ standards (on-boarding, time writing ,expenses, variations, etc)
• Input into the preparation and review of the annual capital budget and quarterly forecast process
• Responsible for the preparation of a monthly department cost control report which provides the status of projects costs
• Management of monthly critical analysis of costs, variances and trends to allow management of change, assisting project teams to implement cost corrective actions and recovery plans and ensures that action plans are implemented
• Interface with Lead Forecast and Budgeting with relevant cost control data

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management or Accounting
• 10-15 years demonstrated experience in cost estimating, cost control and cost risk analysis systems
• Substantial experience in major Oil & Gas Projects (Upstream Gas Processing Facility Development or LNG Plant)
