The Role:
A new opportunity has arisen for a Lead Cost Engineer based in Perth on a 12 month contract basis.

The role will include the following responsibilities:
• Oversee the management and operations of the Cost Control function provided by the Project Controls Group.
• Promote and maintain a cost conscious environment throughout the company.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of integrated project control systems, to ensure cost effective performance.
• Promote the identification of potential areas of concern or improvement, to maximise cost effectiveness on projects and work practices.
• Develop and maintain a professional, highly skilled Cost Control team through leadership, resources, technical and system support, training and innovation.
• Inspire and motivate subordinates and others within the work environment.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other personnel.
• Facilitate the timely generation of cost reports.
• Provide guidance and support to Asset Cost Controllers and Project Cost Controllers in fulfilling their cost control responsibilities. Ensure that cost control procedures are complied with and that reporting by the asset cost controllers adheres to an acceptable and consistent standard.
• Monitor cost control applications to ensure project data integrity.
• Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• 15 - 20 years experience in Cost Control within the Oil & Gas industry. 15 years in a Senior role.
• Engineering qualification(s) or equivalent experience in engineering / construction preferable.
• Proven computer literacy skills with experience in cost and project control computer applications
• Ability to effectively and efficiently plan / prioritise all areas of responsibility such as: Budgets; Time management; Resources – training and succession planning.
• Proven ability to negotiate, mediate and delegate as well as lead a team or work effectively as a team member.
