The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
Coordinate and support the Hinkley engineering team during the project design phase and personally deliver key aspects to ensure the overall design is delivered safely, to specification, on time and to the project budgets, both from the teams and Suppliers engineering designs.

Support the site team during the delivery phase of Hinkley to ensure the installation is completed to the frozen designs and considers all the interfaces minimizing any possible delays.

* Coordinate the Hinkley Project design team to deliver the contractual design engineering safely, on time and to the project engineering budgets. Providing appropriate supervision, information and instructions to the designers under their control.

* Manage and monitor all designs carried out by the engineering designers both locally and OPC, considering any pre-construction information provided by the Client (and principal designer), eliminate foreseeable HSE risks to anyone affected by the project (if possible) with cognisance of the Clients Nuclear Safety culture and communicate to the Project Management/ Client any risks that cannot be eliminated.

* Manage and monitor all designs carried out by the Hinkley engineering team to the Project BMS and provide updates to Project Planner providing weekly updates against the Project programme.

* Manage supplier designs that interface with scope to ensure these are safe, compliant to Client specifications, executed on time and in-line with the project budgets.

* Approve documentation and formally submit in accordance with the Hinkley contractual requirements of the Project

* Liaise with Project Management regularly (weekly/ daily) on progress engineering (internal/ suppliers), budgets, man hours, forecast cost to complete estimates and in line with set budgets.

* Manage the design deliverables to programme and to regularly interface with the Project planning providing design updates on forecasts for completion and resource planning.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* HNC level (or equivalent) in an Electrical Engineering
* 5 years Electricity supply industry experience
* Knowledge of Transmission or Distribution practices (400kV to 11 kV)
* Demonstrable knowledge/experience of successful project delivery of complex projects with multiple interfaces
* Computer literacy - Minimum Microsoft Office.
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
* Good team work, analytical and communication skills
* Commercial and contractual knowledge
* Comfortable interacting with all levels of management
* Happy to get involved and do what's needed
* Self-motivated, well organised and methodical.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Worked in the Power Industry (nuclear, power generation, power stations, substations etc.)
* TP141 certified
* CDM 2015 Principle Designer role
* Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
* Knowledge of Nuclear Safety Culture
* Knowledge of AP913
* Knowledge of IEC61508 (functional safety)
