The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Drilling Instrument Commissioning Engineer responsible for delivery of fully commissioned instrument systems including fire and gas PCS and PSD systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES
Provide HSE Leadership and work with the contractor teams to deliver fully on Client's expectations on HSE.
Coach and train National QC personnel, and ensure that they are provided opportunities to attend formal training courses which benefit the Project and would enhance their capabilities.
Attend site RTC meetings and participate in level 2 risk assessments
Attend Factory Acceptance Tests at supplier’s premises.
Respond to engineering site queries where clarification of design is required and liaise with Eng contractor where Engineering response to SEQ’s is required
Providing engineering assistance to the construction contractor
Ensuring all Instrument commissioning personnel carryout their work and are fully trained in accordance with site PTW procedures.
Ensuring all instrument personnel are fully trained and competent on the equipment and systems being commissioned
Perform Area Authority duties in accordance with PTW procedure
Witnessing and acceptance of site acceptance tests.
Compilation of relevant Commissioning Test Procedures
Responsible for implementing, execution and completion of all discipline work-scopes detailed within Commissioning Test Procedures
Responsible for the safety & management of all Instrument commissioning personnel and vendors reps under their control when on-site
Responsible for the management of all interfaces between field equipment and Topsides
Coordinating Vendor call offs in accordance with construction and commissioning schedule ensuring vendors are utilised fully when mobilised.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Competent in communicating in English language.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Good inter-personal skills.
Ability to produce written reports.
Computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power point
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and project schedules
Minimum of 10 years experience of similar roles in oil and gas industry
Experienced discipline engineer who demonstrates good communication and team ethos skills and have significant experience of working on the commissioning of a major Project within the Drilling oil and gas industry
Compex trained with a valid certificate
