The Company:
Our client is an independent operator in the oil and gas sector.

The Role:
This is a great opportunity to join our client’s onshore Engineering Support team based in Great Yarmouth. The successful candidate shall be responsible for the assurance of electrical generation and distribution systems and its safe and reliable operation across all our operational assets. The role will come with responsibility for line management of a team of electrical engineers and graduates, providing day –to-day support to the offshore platforms and the terminal on electrical issues. In addition to this, there will be a responsibility to own and ensure compliance with company electrical performance standards and HSE legislations.
In view of the nature of this role flexibility is required to work from our base at Great Yarmouth, with routine visits to our offshore assets and at the terminal.
Responsibilities:

• Ensuring technical integrity, reliability, availability and maintainability of electrical generation and distribution systems are optimised so that production targets can be achieved.
• Manage and support the day to day maintenance of the onshore and offshore facilities electrical systems.
• Proactive team member providing and reviewing cost effective solutions to problematic electrical issues using new technology as appropriate through the plant management proposal (PMP) system.
• Line Manage the Electrical Engineers within your trade discipline.
• Mentor Electrical Technicians/Student Engineers and Electrical Engineers.
• Ensure all equipment in hazardous areas is maintained in accordance with BS EN 60079.
• Responsible as document owner for maintaining and developing Electrical Maintenance Strategy and ensuring appropriate integrity management of Electrical equipment.
• Promote the use of best technology to increase production efficiency. Manage costs by controlling spending and promoting a challenging cost culture to ensure best value is obtained from suppliers and contractors.
• Understand and manage onshore and offshore Electrical modifications/project operations to ensure effective and safe execution of work.
• You shall be required to comply and work within the safety critical tasks for this position

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• At least 5-10 years experience within the offshore Oil & Gas Industry.
• Strong operational knowledge of the offshore and onshore gas business

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Ideally a Chartered Engineer or working towards it with a minimum qualification of a Bachelors degree in a relevant subject.
