The Role:
The Electrical Engineer is primarily responsible for review of electrical engineering and design documents, supervising and inspection of electrical construction associated with the LNG project, in line with the company’s objectives of safety, reliability, maintainability and minimization of lifetime costs. The electrical work consists of power transformers, high voltage circuit breakers, protective relay panels, electrical buildings, battery banks, UPS systems, switchgears, MCC’s, plant lighting, grounding, conduit, cable tray, power and control cables and terminations. Review and provide comments on electrical engineering and design documents including technical specifications prepared by EPC Contractor. Supervise and inspect electrical construction and prepare Punch list for deficiencies for electrical works such as settings and assembly of power transformers, high voltage circuit breakers, electrical buildings, battery banks, UPS systems, switchgears, motor control centers, plant lighting, grounding systems, duct banks, cable trays, conduits, pulling and terminating of cables and witness field testing of electrical equipment.

The Electrical Engineer will be expected to follow the project to the field to assist with construction, commissioning, and start-up activities later in the project schedule.

Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) will be required.

External Qualifications:
•Review and prepare comments to electrical engineering and design documents prepared by EPC Contractor. Participate in technical meetings with EPC Contractor and other parties as required. Prepare documentation, reports and schedules required to support construction, commissioning and turnover activities for the project.
•Review vendor drawings received from Contractor for the various pieces of major equipment and prepare comments.
•Prepare project status updates for project management and project development, including relevant conditions and activities that may impact the development, completion or performance of project and facilities. Work closely with design engineers to ensure effective performance.
•Supervise and inspect on behalf of CLNG electrical construction and prepare Punchlist for deficient works not in compliance with contract technical documents and applicable codes and standards.
•Participates and occasionally leads studies associated with specific technological developments and ad-hoc special technical studies as may be requested.


•Requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering


•Require a minimum of 4 year of experience in the energy industry.


•Strong knowledge of Electrical Codes and Standards, technical abilities with effective initiative, decision-making skills and problem-solving abilities to analyze data, identify issues, recommend, develop, and implement solutions.
•Possesses knowledge of construction techniques and practices in the energy, Oil and gas and/or petroleum industries.
•Ability to organize, plan, control, coordinate, and effectively manage cross-functional assignments and projects.
•Familiarity with construction processes and project controls to achieve time, budget and quality metrics
•Familiarity with large solid state Variable Speed Equipment
•Knowledge on Explosion Hazards (area classifications) and familiarity with Explosion safe equipment.
•Sufficient computer literacy to provide quantitative and written reports and use spreadsheets
•Typically requires approximately 20-30% travel over an extended period of time.

Physical Requirements:

•When outdoors, this classification is exposed to extremes of heat, cold, noise and dust. Also is exposed to construction equipment and normal driving hazards. Operates a personal computer for extended periods of time.
