The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
My client has recently created a new department to offer additional technical expertise for a variety of Oil and Gas projects. They are actively recruiting a Lead Engineer who will take ownership in developing the electrical team to deliver complex solutions.

Key duties:

• Lead a team of up to 6-7 engineers in the design, configuration, testing and commissioning of the Electrical systems.
• Apply knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution from 110kV to 400V , substations – GIS, AIS , LV MCC , Transformers etc and their interface engineering.
• Create Single Line diagrams, 3 line diagrams, Control circuitry.
• Complete short circuit calculations, harmonic analysis, effect of large Motor starting on system, Effects of Generator starting, power factor improvement calculations and PFC equipment etc at different points of the electrical system.
• Extensive experience in using ETAP or NEPLAN for designing sturdy electrical systems
• Ensure that the engineered solution is compliant with internal standards and procedures.
• Identify scope changes to the project manager and to assist in detailing the impact of such changes in terms of cost and schedule.
• Interface technically with the client to optimize the system design, co-ordinate resolution of technical queries.
• Manage the engineering resources required and assign work to the team members , improve standards and procedures such that the project is completed timely and cost effectively.
• Assist with technical sales presentations, bid estimation & clarifications.
• Share experience, coach and develop an engineering team. Work in cross functional teams, engage in constructive discussions with customers and vendors, develop specifications, support sales and project management

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree or equivalent in an electrical engineering discipline.
• Full driving license.
• Flexible working hours and the ability to travel
• Proven experience in the design, configuration, testing and commissioning of integrated Electrical systems in the oil and gas or pharmaceutical industries.
• Experienced at working on both national and international projects and companies.
• Experienced at leading a team of engineers.
• Familiar with current national and international engineering standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Chartership would would be desirable
