The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
The role is to join the Oil & Gas Electrical Systems business as the Lead Engineer and be the key member in starting and developing the Electrical engineering team capable of delivering complex electrical solutions to OGP industry. This role is key to a new division and is expected to develop into a managerial position.

Main Accountabilities

• Be a core member of the Electrical systems business and support in developing an engineering team
• Lead a team of up to 6-7 engineers in the design, configuration, testing and commissioning of the Electrical systems.
• Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution from 110kV to 400V , substations – GIS, AIS , LV MCC , Transformers etc and their interface engineering.
• Ability to create Single Line diagrams, 3 line diagrams, Control circuitry.
• Knowledge of short circuit calculations, harmonic analysis, effect of large Motor starting on system, Effects of Generator starting, power factor improvement calculations and PFC equipment etc at different points of the electrical system.
• Extensive experience in using ETAP or NEPLAN for designing sturdy electrical systems
• Ensure that the engineered solution is compliant with company standards and procedures.
• Identify scope changes to the project manager and to assist in detailing the impact of such changes in terms of cost and schedule.

Challenges
• As a primary member of the engineering team, need to be hands on while establishing and expanding the team. Develop, coach and mentor skills in other team members whilst monitoring and managing their progress.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Proven experience of several years in the design, configuration, testing and commissioning of integrated Electrical systems in the oil and gas or petrochemical industries.
• Experienced at working on both national and international projects and companies.
• Experienced at leading a team of engineers.
• Familiar with current national and international engineering standards
• Full driving license.
• Flexible working hours and the ability to travel

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree or equivalent in an electrical engineering discipline, Chartered Engineer would be desirable.
