The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experiences engineering professionals.

The Role:
To lead the engineering and design of Exterior Mouldings (Bumpers, Sills, Splitters, Diffusers, Spoilers) to meet performance targets

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
 Lead the engineering of Exterior Mouldings to meet performance targets
 Performance target setting and validation plan (in conjunction with Body Development, CAE & relevant PAT)
 FESO document ownership including engineering deviations as required
 Creation of design specification, concept schemes and definition of master sections
 Plan design activity to support programme timing (Detail Design Plan)
 Lead cross functional design reviews for system;
 Liaise with vehicle packaging to ensure complete vehicle integration;
 Liaise with PATs to ensure compatibility with relevant attribute targets;
 Create release data to support Engineering Release (CAD, drawings, data transmittal note);
 Manage concerns, containments and permanent corrective actions
 Represent commodity in VSIM, design reviews, package meetings, Virtual Series events and FDJ gateways
 Lead FMA activities (DFMEA, QHR, DoE)
 Maintain relevant project documentation (FESO document, DFMEA, Detail Design Plan)

Qualifications and Experience:
 Engineering degree (or equivalent)
 Extensive experience within automotive engineering/product development preferably in the design of Exterior Mouldings on new vehicle programmes.
 Knowledge of Exterior Mouldings design, development and validation.
 Proven track record in design of Exterior Mouldings or similar components.
 Experience of leadership or clear evidence of leadership ability.
 Familiar with failure mode avoidance techniques including DFMEA.
 Proficient in MS Office tools: Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook
 Good understanding of manufacturing techniques and tooling including stamping, casting, injection moulding, fabrication
 Proficient in the use of Teamcentre / VisMockup to interrogate CAD designs and drawings.
 CAD literate (preferably Siemens NX).
 Intuitive knowledge of fundamental engineering theory. Organised and ability to deliver under pressure.
 Thorough, data-driven approach to solving engineering issues.
 Self-starting and self-motivated.
 Confident communicator – able to present at design reviews and technical forums.
 Full driving licence.
 Chartered Engineer with relevant engineering institution.
