The Company:
Our client has been established for over 20 years locally and is focused on delivering design solutions to the nuclear industry, specialising in the design of mechanical handling plant and equipment, the design and installation of plant control systems and the provision of support to plant safety reviews.

The Role:
As a Senior/ Lead Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for:

- Produce designs from basic specification with little or no supervision.
- Produce manufacturing detail drawings incorporating limits and fits, welding symbols, geometric tolerances and surface finish.
- Produce basic calculations to underpin designs.
- Hazop studies.
- Produce technical files in conjunction with the CE certification.
- Produce technical reports and documents.
- Check and approve drawings.
- Leading design engineers.
- Mentor junior designers.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Senior/Lead Mechanical Engineer in a highly regulated industry.
- 3D CAD user (Inventor and Vault system).
- 2D CAD user (AutoCAD).
- Good working knowledge of complex mechanical equipment and fabrications.
- Intimate knowledge of drawing principles and standards.
- Good knowledge of machining and fabrication techniques.
- Knowledge of materials and their uses.
- Commercially aware.
- Knowledge of applying relevance EH&S to legislation.
- Knowledge of EFD'S, P&ID's and MFD's.
- IT proficient (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office).
