The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The candidate will act as the Lead Engineer Restraints Control Module. The candidate would be expected to Maintain a Systems Engineering approach, ensuring that all stakeholders are involved and working to the same goal. Provide technical assistance to the feature and component owners and to monitor the vehicle requirements and timing and ensure there is a robust delivery plan meeting all required deliverables. Technical Lead for all Network Communication requirements as well and Circuit diagrams and component electrical interfaces. The Candidate would be responsible for Monitoring deliverables via the company's RMDV deliverables monitoring tool, releasing SW to the various vehicle lines and plants using the WERS system, and managing all electrical issues whether this be SW, HW or Network Communication via the use of the AIMS system. The candidate would also be required to visit the manufacturing sites to review emerging issues in order to identify root cause and plan resolutions. The candidate would also be required to visit crash test sites and crash test preparation areas, being responsible for signing off the vehicles fitness for test from a Restraints Electronics perspective.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* A robust understanding of Electronics and electrical systems
* Experience in Electrical system testing
* Experience with vehicle networks such as CAN/LIN
* Exceptional communication skills - Ability to speak to all levels within the company and foster a strong relationship with other competence areas.
* Planning and task management including prioritisation - maintaining control and reporting key facts to management when required.
* Technical competence in Electronics - and with an ability in vehicle networks and messaging systems and control interfaces.
* Able to work as part of a segregated team and drive issues forward to conclusion. "
* Ideally Degree qualified in Electronics/Software or Automotive Subject. (any project management qualifications advantageous).

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Understanding of the Engineering Design Process (V-diagram)
* Experience of Engineering Quality toolsets and processes
* FMEA, Interface Analysis, Boundary Diagrams, 6-Sigma etc.
* Experience of specifying/verifying automotive electrical commodities.
* Knowledge of toolsets and processes - GPDS, eFDVS, RMDV, AIMS, WERS
* Knowledge of Vehicle Multiplex systems - CAN, LIN and associated analysis tools
* Knowledge of ECU Diagnostics - Diagnostic protocols and DTCs
