Lead Facilities Engineer

The Role:
•Set clear objectives and develop the business plans/strategy for the work group in line with overall business and department strategy.
•Plan, direct and supervise the activities within the work group in line with plans, risk exposure and business impact.
•Ensure optimal utilization of resources through analysis, development and implementation of relevant techniques.
•Ensure seamless execution of all engineering development activities and programs relating to the work group.
•Provide operational, technical and risk assessment input for development projects.
•Liaise with other work groups to ensure effective integration of work across work groups.
•Coordinate tendering activies and supervise the activities of contractors, consultants and service providers.
•Ensure compliance of the work group to regulatory and international standards.
•Collaborate and liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure work group and department goals are met.
•Monitor efficiency of systems and processes and undertake performance improvement initiatives.
•Ensure reporting of relevant information and preparation of documents to facilitate key management decisions.
•Support the development and implementation of recruitment and performance management plan for the work group.
•Participate in the development of skills and competencies in subordinates by formal performance assessment, coaching, training and mentoring them.
•Participate in the preparation and periodic review of the Department’ annual budget.
•Demonstrate commitment to safety and ensure work practices are safe and meet environmental standards.
•Works in an evolving business environment where opportunities are being identified on a continuous basis adding additional complexity and workload to the existing project environment.
•Work covers all areas of the LNG and NGL plant facilities, the offshore installations and sub-sea pipelines and port areas.
•Works effectively within established policies and procedures, and participate in the further development of these to meet changing needs.
•Works on large capital expenditure projects in a highly dynamic team environment that has aggressive deadlines, significant responsibility and visibility, requiring accuracy, initiative and the ability to multi-task as essential skills
•Works with all groups in subsurface, offshore, surface and operations to develop, monitor and adjust plans and priorities. This requires effective communication, initiative, and ability to compromise.
•Needs to provide direction and to work effectively in a complex multi-national, multi-disciplinary environment.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Degree in Engineering preferably Chemical from an accredited university.
•A minimum of 9 years of engineering experience in the Oil and Gas sector (for internal candidates, 12 years for external candidates).Preferred experience is gas processing industry.
•Attains and maintains technical competence as per FAC JF TC matrix.
•Advanced knowledge of all relevant engineering systems, specifications and tools.
•A high proficiency in written and spoken English.
•Computer literate.
•Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and supervise a cross functional team.
•Good adaptability to a multinational environment, with a wide exposure to various cultures and customs.
