The Company:

Our client is a global market leader within the energy sector with projects in over 30 countries worldwide. Here in Australia, they are involved in one of the largest LNG projects with operations spanning exploration, production and downstream. The Role:

Our market leading client, in the Oil and Gas industry are currently seeking an experienced Lead Financial Accountant to provide financial services for the company's Australian assets. The successful candidate will report to the Manger of Statutory Reporting and will be a member of the established Finance External Reporting Team. With essential SAP experience, the Lead Financial Accountant will have prior knowledge with treasury transactions, general ledger requisitions, consolidations and statuory accounts.

As the successful candidate, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

* Provide financial accounting services for Australian based assets and joint ventures
* Preparing and maintaining accounting records for companies subsidiaries and assets in Australia
* Apply relevant company accounting policies
* Provide advice on transactions, acquisitions and restructures with the ability to explain accounting procedures as required
* Provide advice for Treasury transactions and development of TMS financial input
* Review company's holdings consolidation and prepare consolidation packages for Tokyo
* Prepare general ledger reconcilliations, discussion, analysis papers, accruals' and necessary journals in SAP
* Develop interim and final statutory accounts and collating technical information for the preparation of reports
* Prepare inputs for profit and loss, balance sheet and tax forecasts
* Liaise with tax team to provide information in assistance for the preparation of tax returns
* Provide assistance to the external audit team
* Provide support for the Senior Financial Accountant team

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

* Minimum 5 years experience in Financial and Operations accounting role
* Minimum 3 years experience for an Exploration / Production company
* Minimum 2 year experience with SAP
* Strong technical treasury, consolidations foreign currency and debt skills
* Essential Undergraduate degree in Accounting
* CPA/CA certified or similar internationally recognised qualification
* Understanding of commercial drivers and Joint Operating Agreements
* Adaptable to new processes
